BACKGROUND
Inspired by WeChat HongBao, GrabLucky is a blockchain-powered, cryptocurrency payment gateway that aims to spread the use of cryptocurrency to the general public.
CHALLENGE
The concept of cryptocurrency was still relatively new in the market and is synonym to scams and illegal activities. How do we increase the adoption rate for GrabLucky wallets and promote its cryptocurrency payment service?
SOLUTION
The strategy is broken into 3 phases. Firstly, 3D worked on GrabLucky’s brand identity to enhance its communication and messaging.
Next, Telegram, one of the fastest-growing messaging app is used to spread the use of GrabLucky wallet. This aims to educate the users and show them first-hand how fun and easy it can be.
Finally, inspired by WeChat HongBao, GrabLucky HongBao is integrated into the Telegram framework, which enables users to freely share the HongBao to friends and family.
RESULT
The campaign was a huge success. GrabLucky managed to grow its user base by a whopping 1,200% within the first 6 months.
